Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00pm; occasionally required to work regular hours in evenings, weekends and some holidays

Salary Range:

$45,263 to $50,924

$24.87 hourly

 Essential duties and responsibilities: 

Program Development, Execution, and Administration

·       Develop new programs and implement programs that have been established

·       Plan, organize and facilitate group recreational sessions on topics for immigrant and resident families and seniors

·       Proactively create and track opportunities for outreach in the community to promote programs & services to meet the targets of programs, including number of sessions and participants

·       Perform program registration activities

·       Generate program promotional materials such as flyers, program descriptions, and press releases

·       Organize and provide on-site support/monitoring for programs to ensure the effective delivery

·       Complete Program Proposals to determine budget projections and evaluation measures and outcomes for each of the programs

       ·       Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical and progress reports as required

  • ·       Ensure the timely collection and entry of service data onto the agency database

·       Respond to clients' enquiries in a timely manner and ensure accurate information is available to clients for accessing services and programs;

Client Services

  • ·Respond to clients' enquiries in a timely manner and ensure accurate information is available to clients for accessing services and programs
  • · Provide language interpretation services or coordinate with volunteer programs to have interpreters for patients during medical appointment visits.
  • · ontact point of patients whenever they have service related questions and relay to the medical provider.

·       Maintain client records in a timely and professional manner

·       Facilitate access to needed services and resources where there are barriers due to language, culture, race and class by providing interpretation or translation.

Other:

·       Recruit and train volunteers in supporting the planning and implementation of programs

·       Attend internal/external meetings as required and provide summaries to Manager

·       Establish and maintain excellent working relationship and communication with internal and external groups

·       Carry out any other duties or tasks as assigned from time to time by the manager;

 

 

 

 Qualifications:

  • ·       A minimum of a university degree or equivalent, preferably in Social Sciences. Certification or training on Community Services,          Counselling or other related disciplines an asset
  • ·       Minimum one year of relevant experience, preferably in a front-line service role and a non-profit setting
  • ·       Excellent knowledge of cultural and social backgrounds of immigrants and refugees; including their settlement and integration issues        both general and specific
  • ·       Knowledge of community resources and services; working experience with immigrants an asset
  • ·       Respect all aspects of diversity; ability to represent clients’ needs in program / service negotiation
  • ·       Proven abilities in program development, service referral, community outreach; working with diverse cultures and all age groups
  • ·       Experience facilitating a variety of social and recreational programming is an asset
  • ·       Experienced in problem solving, team building, decision making, and conflict management 
  • ·       Experienced in resource coordination and case management techniques 
  • ·       Excellent communication skills, oral and written proficiency in English, preferably with one additional language required for purposes        of client service-Cantonese and/or Mandarin
  • ·       Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to operate effectively within the organization and externally. 
  • ·       Ability to manage time, stress and meet deadlines
  • ·       Proficiency in MS Office, E-mail, Internet      

  Other Requirements: 

 

  • Ability to perform some physical activities (e.g. lifting and loading program materials and office equipment);
    • A negative result in Vulnerable Sector Screening is mandatory; 
    • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a car to carry out duties is preferred.
